Nick Nyman
Senior musculoskeletal physio
BSc. (Physiotherapy) | M.Clin.Physio (Musculoskeletal)
I discovered physiotherapy through my own experience as an active teenager, playing hockey, tennis, and running. Frequent aches and sprains often sent me to the physio, where I quickly learned the value of both manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation in speeding up recovery and getting back to sport as soon as possible.
In a nutshell I love…
FAMILY
Time with my partner Tegan especially any adventure that involves our dog Myla or away in our new camper trailer.
COOKING
Cooking is how I destress so expect some lovely smells around the clinic if you come around lunch time.
COFFEE
Cafe’s are another home for me and my morning coffee routine is an ever improving quest for perfection.
HEALTH
I practice what I preach, I enjoy keeping fit, eating well, and staying active.
Professionally
As a physiotherapist, I have been fortunate to work with people from all walks of life. Early in my career, I developed a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, with a particular focus on persistent and long-standing conditions such as chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, and whiplash.
In 2023, I completed my musculoskeletal titling through three years of additional postgraduate, master’s-level training. This recognition of expertise—achieved by only 10% of physiotherapists—reflects advanced skills in diagnosis, hands-on treatment, and clinical reasoning. As a titled physiotherapist, I can provide highly tailored treatment aimed at achieving faster, more effective recovery.
I have also worked extensively alongside some of Perth’s leading orthopaedic surgeons, which has given me strong expertise in both pre- and post-operative rehabilitation. At the same time, I am passionate about finding solutions that improve pain and function without the need for surgery whenever possible.
How can I help you
PAIN RELIEF & INJURY PREVENTION
I support you in easing current aches and preventing future injuries. Through targeted exercises, movement guidance, and hands-on care, I focus on building strength, improving mobility, and teaching strategies that keep your body performing at its best. The aim is lasting relief and long-term resilience.
CHRONIC OR PERSISTENT PAIN
When pain lasts longer than three months, it often becomes more complex to treat. This is usually influenced by the bigger picture—your habits, beliefs, overall health, and the way your body moves. For persistent pain, I take a holistic approach, offering straightforward solutions to what can feel like very complex problems.
COMPLEX CONDITIONS
I enjoy working with challenging or long-standing problems that don’t always have simple answers. By taking the time to understand your history, lifestyle, and goals, I can develop practical strategies that reduce pain, restore function, and support a better quality of life.
POST-SURGICAL CARE
I guide you step by step through your recovery after surgery, with a strong focus on restoring movement, building strength, and supporting your return to normal activities. With the right plan and support, you can feel confident in regaining both function and independence.
